Common Questions

SSL FAQ

What does this SSL checker tell me?

It connects to the domain over HTTPS and reads its live TLS certificate: who issued it, when it was issued and expires, how many days are left, the TLS protocol, and every hostname the certificate covers — so you can confirm HTTPS is set up correctly.

My certificate expires soon — what should I do?

Renew it before the expiry date. Most modern hosts, including PK Hosting, issue and auto-renew free Let's Encrypt certificates, so you never have to think about it. If yours is manual, renew and reinstall it before the countdown hits zero.

Why does it say 'not trusted' or 'self-signed'?

A self-signed or untrusted certificate isn't backed by a recognised authority, so browsers show a warning. Switch to a free, trusted certificate (Let's Encrypt) — every PK Hosting plan includes one, installed automatically.

Do I get free SSL with PK Hosting?

Yes. Every hosting plan includes a free, auto-renewing SSL certificate on all your domains and subdomains, set up for you — no extra cost and nothing to configure.
