Create a subdomain (blog.yourdomain.com)
Add a subdomain and point it at its own folder or app.
A subdomain like blog.yourdomain.com or shop.yourdomain.com gets its own space:
- Add the subdomain to your hosting (open a ticket or use the domain tools on your service page if available). This creates a folder such as
web/blog.yourdomain.com/public_html. - Upload that subdomain's files into its
public_html(see Upload your website files). - If your DNS is elsewhere, add a CNAME or A record for the subdomain (see Add DNS records).
You can even run a separate WordPress install on a subdomain — each one gets its own database automatically.
